Happy Thanksgiving

We just want to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving. I am finally starting to feel better, after a trip to the ER last night. It's only strep, bronchitis, and conjunctivitis. Thanks, to Henry for making the green bean casserole for me, since I woke up at 3 this afternoon. I guess he could make it on his own for a little!! He has been wonderful taking care of the kids for me and taking care of me. I am truly blessed to have a husband that is not afraid to step in!!

Storm Damage

Wow!!! We have finally recovered from the Nor'Easter that came through. We have power again. And, the city removed all the reminats from our Bradford Pear tree. We were the only house in the neighborhood to loose power thanks to the tree ripping the power line from the pole. At least, we were not as badly damamged as some of the houses over in Norfolk and Virginia Beach. The kids only had one day of school last week, so they enjoyed the time off. Not sure if I did though. I tried to explain to them that not every light and TV could be on with only the generator running. I think they got the understanding, as soon as the "real" power came back on. Now everything is back to normal.. and Henry is out to sea. Gotta love the military!!

Happy Halloween

Caroline and Daddy carved the pumpkin on Friday night in prep for the BIG day. Harland not so much into it. But he sure loved the end result. And, Lucy our cat, loved the inside of the pumpkin the best.

Emily's Wedding

We just got back from Emily's wedding in beautiful Florida. She made an absolute gorgeous bride. And the flower girls and ring bearers were simply adorable. It was great to see everyone and catch up on their families. The reception was also a hit, along with the grits bar!! The kids had a wonderful time out on the dance floor breaking it in. By the end of the night my face was hurting from smiling and laughing so hard. I wish we could have stayed longer and had a fall vacation, since it was so nice weather wise down there!!! We wish Emily and Skosh all the best and Congratulations!!

2nd Day of School

So, this picture is of this morning, the 2nd day of school. Yesterday, it was pouring rain and grandma took them to school. They are really enjoying school so far. Harland has adjusted to being in school all day just fine. Caroline is making new friends and she loves her teacher (she lives in our neighborhood). The kids knew how excited I was for them to get back in school and Caroline says to me, "and your hard work begins, you have to help with homework for two!!" Unfortunately, Henry will be gone most of this school year but, there is a support group at school for the kids of deployed parents. Can you tell this is a military town?

Wedding Pictures

So, I have finally gotten to posting the wedding pictures. There were two ceremonies. One was to make it legal in the states, which was held at the courthouse and the second, was the blessing at the beach. Then it was onto partying. The kids surprisingly did not complain once that day. Which made it an even better and enjoyable day for us and everyone involved. The ceremonies started at 4 and the party ended about 10 that night. The reception was held at the Divi Golf Villas. They closed the poolside down and we had that whole side to just us. The food was wonderful and the drinks were longlasting. And, Jason and Cherish donated all the left over food to one of the children orphanges in Aruba. Everyone who came had such a wonderful time and we will be going back, even without a wedding planned!!
