Christmas 2008

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! The kids had a blast opening up all their gifts from Santa and Mom and Dad. I think they got everything they wanted! After gifts, we went to our neighbors' house and had a very nice brunch. Then it was time to start prepping the house for dinner. We had a wonderful dinner, and just a very relaxing time. I can't believe Christmas is already over. So much workup for it, and its done just like that!!

Here are the pictures of the gang. Poor Caroline, she is always the only girl. Like I said, it just was not the same. And, anyone who has been to both places, knows how I feel.

Sneaky little man

The other day, Harland was wanting to open his gifts from under the tree. My answer was of course, NO. But, the sneaky little devil snuck most of his gifts and one from Mommy and Daddy into his room, and yes, did the unthinkable, he opened them!! He was so happy getting all these gifts, that he did not think about the consequences. So, now all the gifts he opened have been put away until the real big day. So, next year no gifts under the tree, until Christmas Eve!! Sneaky, Sneaky. Again, I still wonder where his horns are.

Winter Wonderland

On Sunday, I took Caroline and Harland to the old Coleman's Nursery winter wonderland. Our friends Jacob and Justin went also, along with their Dad. However, the camera we won as a door prize will not work on our computer. So, as soon as I figure out a way to get them off the camera I will post some pictures.

The Coleman's Nursery has been doing Winter Wonderland since the 1960's, but a few years ago, they closed it. And the Courthouse Galleries in Olde Towne Portsmouth got some of the pieces. It was not the same as going to the actual nursery, but, nonetheless the kids still enjoyed it.

Caroline and Harlands' old babysitter sent me these pictures last night. I just had to share. I can't believe how quickly they have grown...

Christmas Wishes for Harland

Harland has also informed me of his wish list. He wants a Nintendo DS and anything else Santa wants to bring him, because Santa knows what he wants. Simply Stated!!!

Christmas Wishes for Caroline

Caroline has just informed me of her wish list. Along with a Nintendo DS, Violin, Wii Sports, CELL PHONE!!!, a working kitchen so she does not have to walk to the kitchen, a microwave so she can heat things up like popcorn and her breakfast in case she over sleeps for school (her words), and the best and last....for her family and Hannah Montana to have the best Christmas ever.

And the party goes on....

After, the parties with the kids, it was our turn. Last night, was also Home Depot's Christmas party. It was great to meet all of Henry's associates without the orange aprons on. We had a really good time. And as the night went on, it was time for the awards.....Henry was named the 2008 Associate of the Year for the store. Way to go Henry!!! I am very proud of all your hard work and I am glad that others have also. Love You Lots.

Party On...

Not Long after the kids had their party we were on to the next. We went over to The Baker's. They have been long time friends of the family. My dad used to work with Mr. Baker at Virginia Power many years ago. And they have adopted us over the years. We all had a great time catching up with them. Although, their health is not the best anymore, they still love to decorate their house in tons of Christmas decorations and have as many people that will come, over for the holidays. God Bless the Baker's.

Kids Party Time

Sunday morning, the kids had their annual Christmas party at Jumping Monkeys. This was for Henry's squadron VFA-106. The kids had a blast!!! They started their morning with lots of food, cupcakes and cookies! Breakfast of champions. They had a guy creating balloon figures and some ladies doing face paintings. And, need I say the big guy and his wife from the North Pole bearing goody bags. This place was filled of giant inflatables and parents were not allowed on them. :( I forgot my camera and Henry would not turn around to get it. So, I could not capture the greatest moments, but I did manage to get these of Mr. Batman and Ms. Butterfly when we got home.

A Saturday Conversation

On Saturday we woke up kinda late. My mom and I and the kids were going to do some shopping. We started our day about 10:00 and of course, the kids wanted nothing to do with shopping. So throughout the day, the kids were whining and complaining and running to the bathroom every chance they got. Well, we finally finished about 8 that night (yes, I know a long day even for me). Henry just about met us at home from work. He asked the kids what did you do today? The kids answer, we whined and mommy and grandma took us shopping ALLLLL day long.

Moral of the story, LEAVE THE KIDS AT HOME!!!

I thought everyone would enjoy some new pictures of the kids. Caroline lost another tooth on Sunday. She was very excited and she pulled it herself. Good for her!!! And the tooth fairy came of course.!!:) How lucky is she to have the tooth fairy and Santa all in one month!?

Harland has become very opinionated lately. He broke one of my favorite ornaments the other day. It was in the "safe" zone at the top of the tree. He thought it would be neat to throw some blocks into the tree. Well, needless to say it broke and I was told "I should not have put it on the tree." So this picture does not show his horns!!

Caroline's christmas performance

Last night we went to Caroline's 2nd grade performance at school. They were all so adorable. They sung about the celebrations and traditions around the world. Harland even participated from the audience.
