Harland's Idea of Dressing Up

We were supposed to meet some friends for dinner last night, but Kathy got sick. The kids had already decided to dress for dinner and this was what I got. Caroline looks great and Harland, well what can I say, he has a mind of his own. And yes, we took him out anyways looking like this. He did tell me I needed to buy him some more "fancy" shoes. So he wore his old Christmas shoes. He did have the whole holiday theme going on at the bottom and the summer look on top. And he was as proud as could be!!! Henry did tell him he did not look right and Harland got to thinking, but disagreed and loudly stated it to us. Enjoy!!

Fireworks

On 4th of July weekend, Norfolk had Harborfest. We were there all day long, we watched the parade of ships and followed it up with the fireworks that night. Caroline and her cousin, Jaden were so good all day long. I think the parents were worse off than the kids. It was a long and exhausting day, but it was all worth it. The new TownePoint park was wonderful and it was a nice cool day. Sorry, the pictures were so late.

Time to introduce.....

COCOMO

A few weeks ago, we adopted our new dog, Cocomo, from the animal control center. She is 10 years old and was bred way too much then kicked to the curb. She has adjusted well into our family, she is protective of us and the kids. She walks with and without a leash very well. And the best thing, the kids have to scoop the poop!!! And so far, they have kept up with their bargain. She is a full bred Chocolate Lab. And when we took her to the vet, for the initial, oh my what I have I done visit, she checked out great!!! I hope she has many more years with us.

Caroline and NYC

Empire State Building

Caroline saw The Night at the Museum the night before and wanted to see the real deal!!

Ms. and Mr. Liberty??

Enjoying the boat ride

Caroline and Grandpa

Statue of Liberty

She thought the pigeons were cute!!

Her first train ride
Caroline went to NYC for the first time. She went with my parents and she had a blast. All she wanted to see was the Statue of Liberty and Museum of Natural History (where the Night at the Museum movie took place). She got all of her wishes. She also got to visit and have dinner with my cousin Kelly. She lives and works in the Big Apple. So, they went to and "underground" Mexican restaurant for dinner, where she devoured her steak tacos and black beans. And got herself and brother some really neat souvenirs. She also got us a very nice ornament. She is growing up so fast. It seems like the week she was gone, she matured a mile.
And now, this week Harland has gone to Missouri with Henry. After, they did a few days the week before in Florida. So, the kids have gotten a few miles under their belts, in the few weeks school has gotten out. Isn't it great to be young again!!

Fun At School

Togetherness
Love the hand on hip!!!

Concentration
Today, the kids had their end of the year parties. Henry and I were both able to go and ended up tag teaming each class. They both had a blast although, Harland's party was outdoors and included, limbo, bubbles, sack racing and sno-cones. I would love to be in Kindergarten again!! Caroline's party was more about talking to friends and coloring pictures and having popcorn and music. And, the extra special treat was being able to leave early!! I can't believe summer has started, let the games begin!!!

Jason and Cherish's wedding shower

SURPRISE !!!
Gift Time

Catching Up !!!

A few weeks ago, we had a surprise couples wedding shower for my brother, Jason and soon to be wife Cherish. I think they were truly surprised (I hope). We had a few people come from out of state, and that was wonderful they were able to make it! They received lots of wonderful gifts and had a great time. And, having it as a beach themed couples shower made it a hit. If any of you don't know, they are having a destination wedding in Aruba this August 5th. We want to wish them all the best and have a very long and fruitful marriage.

Harland Kindergarten Performance

Harland did a wonderful job last night. All four of the kindergarten classes performed together!! They did a song called,"The world is a rainbow". It was so sweet. And also, my all time favorite song, "What a Wonderful World". They did sign language to both songs and I just loved it so much. Caroline did these same songs when she had her kindergarten performance and they were so cute too. It is had to believe that I have no more Kindergarten performances to attend. They are both growing so quickly.
PS....I am trying to figure out how to download the camcorder so I can post the video.
