Harland's Hairdo

Harland has decided that he wants a spiky hairdo. This morning, while I was getting ready, he asked me to use my mousse and and hairspray. He says, "I want my hair high". So, after I was done getting ready we went to Wal-Mart. As soon as we get in there he starts saying, "mom I need some gel, hairspray, combs, and a mirror". So we found those items. As soon as we walked in the door, he slipped into his room, gear and all, then popped out a little later with his hair done. He says to Grandma--mom bought me glue for my hair!! We just had to show everyone his crowning achievement. I just hope he will not be one of those boys who spend hours getting his hair just right!

A day of work

Yesterday, I decided to get the millions of leaves out from our patio. The kids wanted to help, but with a catch--Caroline wanted a PAYCHECK!! and Harland had to work off the Bakugan balls he had just gotten. Needless, to say Caroline was a much better helper.

This was Harland after the "fun" wore off. I think he took just about every wheeled toy outside the gate. But, at least he was having fun his way and that alone helped a ton.

And this was after they were both bored!!! Yes, I thought I heard go get the duct tape, but they like to "repair" things so, I really did not think about it. Until, I looked up and saw she had duct taped him to the dolly we were using to move the full bags of leaves. He thought it was absolutely the greatest thing. And, a little later that evening she taped his mouth shut while I was in the shower. Of course, I saw it and made her take if off of him. Not quite in the realization that the tape was on his face and she surely was quick to remove it. The tape came off. Harland screams "Caroline you took off my beard!!". He sees peach fuzz on his face and he is growing a beard at 5!!
Have a great day!!

Caroline's Opinion

Today, Caroline and her brother were fighting. Caroline started it, and Harland came running to me screaming/laughing. But first, let me back up. Harland has been promised a mohawk if he does not fight with his sister for a week--good luck to him!! So, she was told to leave him alone. And she stormed off the her room, slammed the door (which she will loose here shortly if that keeps happening) and continued to yell and scream "why do you always take his side"? Its not a matter of sides but, fair fighting right.? She was not in her room 5 seconds before this popped up on the outside of the door, followed by another slam of the door. If you can't read this it says--if you only love Harland stay out. Do you think this child was mad at her mama? If this is a sign of her emotions when she hits her teenage years...Lord, help me NOW!!!

Goodbye Josh

Last night, we had dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant with our friend, Josh. He is getting out of the Navy and leaves on Monday, to meet up with his wife, Tara and his beautiful daughter, Chloe in Arizona. Which by the way, she said her first words at 6 and a half months, just the other day...Do Work. Apparently, that is a saying that the guys say in Henry's shop. No Mama or Dada for her first words. Go figure.

I also can say I have had Sushi now. Josh talked me into it, and some of them were not so bad. Just a little chewy. I don't think that is something I will have on a regular basis though. Henry and Josh have had true Sushi before and said this was OK.

Good Luck to Josh, Tara and Chloe on their new adventure in Arizona--We will miss them.

New Additions

Harland and Caroline got new toys today. Thanks to Uncle James. Harland wanted a Star Wars mask to go with his light saber sword. And Caroline just wanted a pet snake, what happened to all the girly things? Everyone say, Thank You Uncle James.
